This program reviews potential adverse consequences to residents of unnecessary drugs; the difference between an adverse drug reaction and a side effect; the importance of periodic evaluation of a resident’s medication regimen, to include common considerations for appropriate medication duration; and the purpose and proper monitoring of gradual dose reduction and appropriate use of psychotropic and antipsychotic drugs.
This is approved by NAB/NCERS for a total of 1 CE and the Florida Board of Nursing for 1 nursing credit for those who successfully complete the program.
