This course combines 3 of our programs for a total of 1.25 NAB CEs and 1 Florida Board of Nursing CE for those who successfully complete the program. All 3 courses must be completed to get the CE credit.
The programs distinguish between key areas where principles of ethics must be applied and followed, and how QAPI supports these efforts. The programs explain the importance and necessity of leading the organization by following principles of ethics, both in business operations and when ensuring that quality care is based on sound clinical ethics practices that address residents’ needs.

Business Ethics
Explores the definition of ethics and its key values, potential conflicts of interest, ethical business practices, the importance of honest communication, the duty to report, and practices to avoid.
Comparing Compliance and Ethics with QAPI
Outlines the similarities between Office of Inspector General (OIG) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for a Compliance and Ethics Program. States the purpose of a Compliance and Ethics Program and a Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program. Explains the need for both a Compliance and Ethics Committee and a QAA/QAPI Committee.
Ethics Committee: Providing a Venue for Healthcare Ethics Discussions
Defines healthcare ethics and explains the role of an Ethics Committee. Describes the differences between an Ethics Committee and a Compliance and Ethics Committee.
